PTek Holdings Announces messageREACH and Fax MailMERGE Services
Xpedite, a global leader in enhanced electronic messaging and a business unit of PTEK Holdings, Inc. has introduced messageREACH for the publishing industry, a new outsourced e-mail management solution.
messageREACH is a cost-effective and feature-rich service that allows publishers to effectively manage the distribution of high volumes of e-mail. Features include tracking reports, encryption and customization capabilities, and the automated administration of all replies, removal requests and bounce backs.messageREACH was introduced to address the growing use and applicability of e-mail in the publishing industry. The service alleviates many of the administrative and technological headaches associated with distributing high volumes of e-mail and is increasingly being used to distribute documents such as subscription renewals and re-qualifications, surveys, directory updates, newsletters, marketing pieces and last-minute advertising promotions. For example, e-mail messages can be created with individualized inserts for subscription re-qualifications or directory updates. The recipients can quickly review their information, make changes if necessary and then return the message. Or, unique URLs can be embedded into e-mail messages that, when clicked on, will take the recipient to the publisher's web site. MessageREACH can track this "click-To" and report back to the publisher exactly who visited their site and when.
The company also introduced Fax MailMERGE, a new service that allows publishers to use standard Microsoft Word software and the Internet to create customized fax documents for large volumes of recipients. Fax MailMERGE uses Microsoft Word's own extensive Mail Merge capabilities to create documents that Xpedite will deliver, such as subscription renewals, invoices, newsletters, last-minute advertising promotions and marketing pieces. A customer needs only to create a Microsoft Word mail merge document and then send it with the merge data list to Xpedite, using its proprietary Fax MailMERGE Web interface. The service also offers a "preview" of how the faxed document will look, from the Fax MailMERGE Web site.
Fax MailMERGE provides customers with a host of options and functionalities, including the ability to:
- create a mail merge document using standard Microsoft Word 97 or higher
- create a distribution list containing the fax destinations and data insertions using any desired keywords
- incorporate standard Windows fonts, attributes and graphics into the document
- use the Internet to send the document and distribution list to Xpedite
- preview the merged document right on their own PC
With Fax MailMERGE, Xpedite customers need only know how to use Microsoft mail merge and have an Internet connection. In addition, most of the more advanced functions of Word Mail Merge, including conditional statements, can be freely used.
"With the publishing industry increasingly adopting e-mail as a primary mechanism for communicating with various parties, messageREACH takes the strain off publisher's IT resources and helps them effectively manage the large volumes of e-mail that they currently send and receive," says Marion Bartholomew, Xpedite's Director of Strategic Analysis. "Fax MailMERGE allows our customers to combine the software already on their desktop with the distribution capabilities of Xpedite. It's perfect for our customers who need personalized last-minute communications solutions for hundreds or thousands or recipients."
