The Independent Publisher Book Awards (the “IPPYs”) are are intended to bring increased recognition to the thousands of exemplary independent, university, and self-published titles published each year. The awards are open to all members of the independent publishing industry, and to authors and publishers worldwide who produce books written in English and intended for the North American market. Since the inaugural contest in 1996, over 4,500 books have received IPPY Awards, and all the recognition, credibility, and increased sales that a book award can bring. Independent spirit and expertise comes from publishers of all sizes and budgets, and books are judged with that in mind.

Entry for the 2013 IPPY Awards is now closed, judging is underway, and we plan to announce results on April 30th. The 2013 IPPY Awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 29, in New York. See a photo album from last year's event.

Axiom Business Book Awards

Axiom Business Book Awards

The Axiom Business Book Awards are intended to bring increased recognition to exemplary business books and their creators, with the understanding that business people are a very well-read and informed segment of the population, eager to learn about great new books that will inspire and inform them, and help them improve their careers and businesses. The Axiom Awards recognize books in a wide range of categories, from Leadership and Personal Finance to Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy. The list of categories includes books intended for professionals (International Business/Globalization); for general consumers (Retirement Planning); books about business people (Memoir/Biography); and books meant to motivate and entertain (Business Fable).

Entry for the 2013 Axiom Awards is now closed, and 2014 awards will reopen in June.

Moonbeam Children's Book Awards

Moonbeam Children's Book Awards

The Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards are open to authors, illustrators, and publishers of children’s books written in English or Spanish and intended for the North American market. The Moonbeam Awards are intended to bring increased recognition to exemplary children’s books and their creators, and to support childhood literacy and life-long reading. As our society has gotten more complex and growing up has become more complicated, children’s book authors and publishers have risen to the occasion, creating books that not only celebrate the joys of childhood, but also help kids and families deal with its challenges. The Moonbeam Awards recognize and reward the best of these books and bring them to the attention of booksellers, librarians, parents and children.

Entry is now open for the 2013 Moonbeam Awards, with an early-bird fee of $85 per title, per category, good until June 22nd. Final entry deadline is August 31st.

Results will be announced on about October 1st, and the awards ceremony will take place during the Traverse City Children's Book Festival in early November, 2013.

The Living Now Book Awards are designed to bring increased recognition to the year’s very best lifestyle books and their creators, and celebrate the innovation and creativity of newly published books that enhance the quality of our lives, from cooking and entertaining to fitness and spirituality. Lifestyle publishing categories such as home, family, health and personal development are the fastest-growing segments of book publishing today, and the Living Now Book Awards help demonstrate the importance of these books to readers and their vitality in the marketplace.

Entry is now open, with an early-bird entry fee of $85 per title, per category, good until April 27th. The final entry deadline is July 27, 2013.
