Annual Living Now Book Awards Deadline Approaches

Traverse City, MI, July 2014 - This week marks the final deadline for the sixth annual Living Now Book Awards, the awards contest for lifestyle, health, and mind-body-spirit books.  Authors and publishers have until the extended deadline of Saturday, August 2nd to enter their best titles in hopes of winning a gold, silver, or bronze medal and the coveted “award-winner” title.

The results, announced in early September, spotlight the year’s best and brightest publishers of life-changing books. Last year’s winners came from a diverse selection of publishers, such as Bright Sky Press, Jessica Kingsley Publishers, Singing Dragon, and Llewellyn Publications. University presses were represented with medalists from Kent State University Press and the University of South Carolina Press, and the American Cancer Society received both a gold and a bronze medal.

The 2013 medalists also showcase the higher quality books we see coming from self-publishers. Many winning titles were beautifully produced without the support of a traditional publisher, such as Irene Liem’s A Romance with Indonesian Cooking. Other award-winners were made with the help of publishing services. CreateSpace, Trafford Publishing, Tate Publishing, and Xulon Press all received recognition for the exemplary books they helped authors create.

From up-and-coming indie presses and self-published authors to long-established publishing houses, last year’s award-winners reflect the diversity of the publishing industry. With quality titles coming from so many different directions, the 2014 Living Now Awards are anyone’s game. The results announcement will take place on September 10, 2014.

The Living Now Book Awards were established in 2008 to honor life-changing books, and to bring increased recognition to the year’s best lifestyle, homestyle, world-improvement and self-improvement titles of the previous year.
