AUDIBLE.COM OFFERS AFFILIATES DIRECT ACCESS TO THOUSANDS OF AUDIOBOOKS
Small and Medium-sized Web Sites to Sell Interest-Specific DownloadableAudio Titles
Audible, Inc. has announced that affiliate sites are now able to link directly to any of Audible's(r) downloadable audiobooks. Responding to requests from an affiliate partnership network of more than 1,000 sites assembled in the past two weeks, Audible is now providing direct access to audiobook titles. A button or link at the affiliate's Web site takes end users to a page where they can purchase and listen to a featured audiobook. Audible is the leading provider of Internet-delivered spoken audio for computer-based listening or mobile playback on AudibleReady(tm) PC-based portable digital audio players. Audible's affiliate program for third-party sites is hosted by Commission Junction."Anyone can build a mini-Audible service at their own site, by linking to any selection from our industry-leading audiobook library that is relevant and of interest to their site's visitors," stated Foy Sperring, vice president and general manager of audible.com. "Response to our affiliate program has been outstanding, with some 80 sites requesting membership every day. Our affiliate partners wanted this enhancement to the program, so we' ve quickly delivered it. We consider this enhanced affiliate program another important step for our growth strategy."
Audible's third-party affiliate program is the latest aspect of a multi-tiered affiliation-based distribution initiative. Direct affiliates such as Amazon.com and Britannica.com are also offering Audible content to their customers in an integrated manner. In the case of direct affiliates the shopping experience is co-branded and all of Audible's 28,000 hours of downloadable audiobooks, audio digests of newspapers and magazines, radio shows and original content are available. Audible also recently announced the launch of its Tell A Friend customer referral incentive plan, in which any Audible user can offer an audio title to a friend for 50% less than the normal price. Once the friend purchases an Audible title, the referrer receives a $5.00 coupon that is valid toward any of Audible's content, hardware or services.
