NEWMARKET PRESS TO PUBLISH INSTANT BOOK OF PRESIDENT’S HISTORIC SPEECH

Commemorative edition includes detailed timeline of events;American Red Cross is designated charity recipient
Newmarket Press is publishing President George W. Bush's recent address to the Nation in a commemorative edition expected to be in bookstores nationwide in mid-October, about four weeks after the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks. Entitled OUR MISSION AND OUR MOMENT - President George W. Bush's Address to the Nation Before a Joint Session of Congress September 20, 2001 (Newmarket Press, 48 pp., chronology, $6.00 pocket paperback, Pub Date: October 11, 2001), the instant book, priced at $6.00, was created by the New York publisher to raise funds to assist those in need following the events of September 11.

Esther Margolis, publisher at Newmarket Press, has committed a $250,000 donation from the first printing profits, plus $1 a book thereafter, to The American Red Cross for those affected by the tragedy. The first printing is 100,000 copies. The fundraising effort is being supported by donations of production, sales, and distribution services from printers Bind-Rite Graphics, Bind-Rite Services, Jaguar Advanced Graphics, Offset Paperback Manufacturers, carton packager City Diecutting Inc., book designer Night & Day Design, and Newmarket's trade distributor W.W. Norton & Company.

In addition to the complete transcript of President Bush's historic speech, the book includes a detailed timeline of events from September 11 to September 20. The cover features color photos of the President giving his speech, and the New York City skyline, including the Twin Towers, before the attack.

OUR MISSION AND OUR MOMENT is Newmarket Press' first instant book since its first year of publishing in 1982. Previously, Newmarket's founder Esther Margolis, was senior vice president at Bantam Books, who pioneered the instant book genre with the publication of The Warren Commission Report in 1964.
