Ownership Change at Voyageur Press: Founder Sells Interest
Robert DuBois, founder of Voyageur Press, Inc., has resigned as CEO and President and sold his interest in the company.
DuBois' first publication was Les Blacklock's 1973 Minnesota Seasons calendar. Three of his early books, Our Minnesota, Black Hills/Badlands and Journeys to Door County, are still in print, setting the tone and direction of Voyageur Press to this day. For the past two years, DuBois has been instrumental in developing the company's website, voyageurpress.com. He will continue as a consultant to the company's e-commerce business.Voyageur's Publisher, Tom Lebovsky, said, "Bob and I have been partners for the last 13 years. When Bob expressed his interest in leaving, we looked for an arrangement that would allow Voyageur to continue as a strong, independent publisher."
In his farewell address to employees, DuBois said, "There comes a time when it's right for a founder to leave. I believe the time for me is now. With Tom's leadership and the management currently in place, I know they will carry out the vision of Voyageur Press."
Lebovsky, Marketing Director Dave Hohman, Editorial Director Michael Dregni, Art and Production Director Andrea Rud, and two UK investors have purchased DuBois' interest in the company. With sales growing in excess of 15% annually for the last ten years and a strong management team in place, Voyageur is well positioned for the change in ownership and for continued growth.
