NEW YORK SEPTEMBER ELEVEN TWO THOUSAND ONE
de.MO Releases Stunning New Tribute Book
"I'm in the World Financial Plaza buildings at Ground Zero. I don't know if something above me will fall or if something under my feet will give way. But I want to keep shooting because it's amazing and the rest of the world needs to see what I am seeing because it is indescribable."-- Deborah Hardt, Photographer
The events of September 11, 2001 will never be forgotten. Many people, in NYC and around the world, used the phrase "words cannot describe" when groping to come to terms with the magnitude of the tragedy. The shock of the images overwhelmed any response aside from stunned silence and unshakeable sadness.
In the weeks since, as resolve and spirit and compassion have buoyed up in measured response to the initial tears and anger, the words have started to come back. As the world has struggled to put the events and ensuing actions into perspective, we have found that the act of putting in words the recollection of September eleventh has allowed us to go on.
We will never forget the day, nor the memory of the images.
We will never forget those who gave their lives, first, without warning, and second, in the courageous act of rescue.
And now, as we have finally found the ability to express ourselves, we have put onto paper the thoughts of where we were on that infamous day and how we're choosing to go forward. NEW YORK SEPTEMBER ELEVEN TWO THOUSAND ONE is an unforgettable, moving collection of words and images that memorializes and honors the victims, heroes, and sacrifice.
