Literary Celebration to Shake Up San Francisco

"Litquake" Literary Festival Announced
The Litquake Planning Committee, in conjunction with Youth Speaks, an organization dedicated to youths' active literacy and critical thought, has announce Litquake, a literary festival to be held in San Francisco, October 11-12, 2002. Including an event co-sponsored by the San Francisco Public Library, Litquake will happen at different venues over the two days. Many notable authors from a wide variety of genres will be featured - some in a spirited panel discussion, most giving live readings, all in the only celebration of its kind in San Francisco.

Some of the Bay Area's best novelists, poets, memoirists, monologists, humorists and journalists will take part in Litquake. Following is a sampling of the more than 50 authors appearing at the festival:
