Random Eye Speeds Design Functions

Graphic design functions that usually take hours or days can now be accomplished in seconds with the launch of Random Eye images, the first-ever intelligent software for conceptualizing and creating images.
Developed by Random Eye Technologies Inc., Random Eye images uses the Internet to enable users to select from a series of archived images and view them instantaneously in a random stream of compositions. Random Eye images was launched in February at the Seybold Seminars Boston Publishing 2000 trade show.

"Random Eye images is both an interactive viewing guide and an idea generator, producing visual solutions for the creative business market at push-button speed," says Ken Davies, President, Random Eye Technologies Inc. "Users can select images from a database and compose them in various combinations, maintaining control over the level and degree of randomization of the image creation process. With Random Eye images you become the image portal."

Random Eye images was written using Java Technology, which allows Random Eye images to run on any Java-enabled platform, including Macintosh OS, Windows and Linux. The software works by retrieving images from photo agency Web sites, CDs, or the user's own hard drive, compiling entirely new photographic compositions at a rate of one layout every three seconds. The process loads these images onto layers palettes that determine position, rotation, opacity and size. The user can intervene at any time to change the sequence of layers, request a specific topic search, or add an image from their own internet hard drive or database.

"Random Eye is a brilliant software application that enables creative professionals to expand their creativity, increase their productivity, satisfy clients and do it all in less time. It will help Masterfile improve its Internet service to clients around the world and is sure to become an industry standard for every visual creative who uses a computer," says Steve Pigeon, President, Masterfile Corporation.

"We see Random Eye images as a tool for anyone who uses Photoshop, PageMaker or Quark Xpress. It is not meant to be a replacement for the creative process, but a powerful and productive creative tool for designers and photographers who generate high quality photography compositions," says Davies.

Random Eye is currently developing a family of design and publishing products that use the same intelligent technology. A set of photoshop plug-ins is currently under development, ensuring there will be a version of the product that will be compatible with the leading image enhancement software. Random Eye images will be sold for $249 US and can be purchased through the Random Eye website.

Random Eye Technologies Inc. also announced that it has signed an agreement with Corbis Images(r) , Corbis' professional licensing division. Through this agreement, Random Eye images will be linked directly to the royalty-free photo database of Corbis Images, enabling users to search for and download Corbis images into Random Eye's software program.

Random Eye images is the first graphics application to allow users to search for images over the Internet without leaving the program to conduct separate web searches. Users can search more quickly and download the images directly into a layout or into compositions with a single click.
