First Annual "How To Get Published Day " Announced
New Aspect of Small Press Month CelebrationAs part of a national celebration of Small Press Month, the first annual "How to Get Published Day" will take place on March 4, 2003. On this day, publishers and published small press authors across the country will be speaking at their local book stores and libraries, providing advice and information on the complete publishing process.
For those located in New York City, on March 4th, at 6pm, the Small Press Center will be hosting a seminar on publishing options, entitled "How to Get Published." Judith Appelbaum, Managing Director of Sensible Solutions, and the author of How to Get Happily Published, will be discussing such topics as approaching and working with a large trade publisher, as well as the benefits of working with a small press. She will also speak about the latest innovations in self-publishing. The Small Press Center is located at 20 West 44th St, New York, NY 10036. For any questions regarding "How to Get Published Day" or the Small Press Center seminar, please call 212-764-7021.
Small Press Month is co-sponsored by the Small Press Center, New York; Publishers Marketing Association, California; and PMA's Affiliates. Additional support has been provided by Consortium Book Sales and Distribution, Book Sense and the American Booksellers Association, Council of Literary Magazines and Presses, Independent Publishers Group, National Book Network, R.R. Bowker and Small Press Distribution.
