Personnel Changes at Taunton Press
Elizabeth Agren has been named publisher of Inspired House magazine, the home design magazine for the way people really want to live. In this capacity, she oversees advertising sales, circulation, marketing, and editorial content of the bimonthly magazine published by The Taunton Press, a trusted source of information and inspiration on house and home. Taunton is a privately held publishing company headquartered in Newtown, Connecticut.Agren joined Taunton as a business planning associate in the finance department, learning the magazine business and translating financials for the magazine editors and advertising sales managers. She was promoted to publisher of Fine Gardening and Threads magazines in January 2002 and under her leadership, Fine Gardening grew to an average circulation of nearly 200,000 and sponsored garden shows and conferences throughout the U.S.
Prior to joining Taunton in 1997, Agren spent seven years in the New York publishing world at John Wiley & Sons, Inc. and Thompson Publishing Group as a marketing manager for professional, reference, and trade books. A graduate of the University of Richmond, she earned a B.A. in English with a French minor, and also holds a certificate from the New York University Summer Publishing Institute.
Jan L. Senn has been named editor of Inspired House magazine, the home design magazine for the way people really live. In this capacity, she oversees planning of editorial content of the bimonthly magazine published by The Taunton Press.
Previously Senn served as editor/executive director of Gardening How-To magazine, editor of Midwest Home & Garden magazine, and has published articles on design and architecture for other publications such as Architecture Minnesota, ASID ICON, Sanctuary and Target.
David Gray has been named publisher of Fine Woodworking, the magazine that provides woodworkers of all levels of experience with unique inspiration and information to improve their skills, accuracy and efficiency. In this capacity, he oversees advertising sales, circulation, marketing, and editorial content of the bimonthly magazine published by The Taunton Press.
Gray most recently served as Advertising Director, leading sales efforts for Fine Woodworking and Fine Homebuilding magazines. In his new role, Gray is responsible for overseeing Fine Woodworking, Taunton's flagship magazine, as it enters its 30th year of publication.
