BookExpo 2006 goes to Washington
BookExpo America (BEA), the premier book publishing event in the United States, will be held from Wednesday, May 17, through Sunday, May 21, 2006 in Washington, D.C., at the newly constructed Washington Convention Center. BookExpo offers a unique opportunity for publishers and authors to gain exposure and network with the entire publishing industry, whether it’s to generate interest in a new release, position an author within the industry, buy or sell rights, generate press, or simply discuss industry trends with colleagues.

Second Annual New Title Showcase
BookExpo will again work with the Combined Book Exhibit, a 70 year old company specializing in the organization of cooperative exhibits at trade shows, to offer publishers a unique marketing opportunity. The Second Annual New Title Showcase will be centrally located in the lobby of the Washington Convention Center.
This display will allow publishers to focus attention on important new titles by providing them with a high-traffic exhibit area where these books, magazines, audio and video products will be seen by virtually thousands of convention-goers before they even hit the exhibit floor. Participation includes a listing in a specially prepared catalog that will feature the titles on display along with company and contact information. Registration will begin soon, so stay tuned.

Hotel ABA - Washington, D.C.
In response to previous years' success and booksellers' requests, the American Booksellers Association, working with BookExpo America, has secured an exclusive hotel for ABA member booksellers planning to attend BEA 2006. The Doubletree Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia -- just minutes from downtown Washington, D.C., and the Convention Center -- will be the official ABA Hotel for next year's trade show. ABA member booksellers will soon be able to book rooms for BEA 2006 at the special room rate of $129 per night.
