The three-hour Workshop will be held every month in Austin, Texas.
THE WORKSHOP INCLUDES plenty of insider info and busts all the myths about the book publishing industry. Whether you’re planning to write a book, are already writing one, or have completed one, this Workshop helps guide you through what you need to know about the industry so you can avoid the land mines and become well-published.

WORKSHOP LEADER: Nina L. Diamond has written Independent Publisher magazine’s Much Ado About Publishing commentary/humor column since 2003, and also regularly contributes feature articles. She is also a judge for the Independent Publisher Book Awards (IPPY Awards).
Nina is the author of Voices of Truth: Conversations with Scientists, Thinkers & Healers, which NAPRA Review called “an extraordinary book, inspiring, entertaining, and rich in wisdom.”
She is also the author of the unfortunately titled Purify Your Body, a book of natural health reporting that has been a selection of the Book-of-the-Month Club’s One Spirit Book Club and the Quality Paperback Book Club. On the cover, Deepak Chopra calls the book, “A compelling blend of valuable healing techniques, wit, and wisdom for both men and women.”
As a journalist and essayist, she has written hundreds of articles for dozens of magazines and newspapers, including Omni, The Chicago Tribune, The Miami Herald, and The Los Angeles Times Magazine. She covers the arts and sciences; the media, publishing and current affairs; and she publishes feature articles, interviews, commentary, humor/satire, essays, and book reviews.
Nina has appeared on Oprah discussing the publishing industry, and she has also been interviewed on television news programs and radio shows across the country in conjunction with her work as a journalist and author.
She was also a writer and performer on Pandemonium, the National Public Radio (NPR) satirical humor program, for its entire run in Miami and select markets nationwide from 1984-1998.
As an editor, she works frequently with other authors and journalists on both fiction and non-fiction. She has collaborated as a ghostwriter on numerous non-fiction books that have been published by Simon & Schuster, Pocket, Contemporary Books, Marlowe & Co./Perseus, and other publishers.
PRICE: The three-hour workshop is $140 per person.
WORKSHOP MATERIALS: You will receive hand-outs that list publishing industry resources. You may bring a laptop or pen and paper to the workshop to take notes.
WORKSHOP LOCATION: We will meet at Dominican Joe Coffee Shop, 515 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704. We will meet at the shop's front entrance.
