Farewell Frank McCourt

Frank McCourt, 78, author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning memoir Angela's Ashes, as well as the sequels ‘Tis and Teacher Man, was among the many icons who died this summer. Although he had melanoma, it was meningitis that took his life on July 19, 2009 in New York.

I was delighted and honored to have interviewed him for my November/December 2006 Much Ado About Publishing column, “Feeding Frank McCourt.” Read it again HERE.

Irish eyes are crying.

Ours are, too.
