Living Now Book Award Winners Inform and Inspire Readers of All Ages

(Traverse City, MI – Sept 12, 2013) - Experts tell us it’s a great time to be alive. More people today are living better than ever before, in part because of easy access to information. How can you find the keys to better living? Read more books!

Jenkins Group is proud to announce the winners of the 5th Annual Living Now Book Awards, presented to honor books that improve our lives in wholesome, Earth-friendly ways. The award winners were chosen from newly published books in lifestyle categories from cooking and parenting to wellness and spirituality. In all, 107 gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded in 34 categories, out of 545 total
entries.

Want to start eating healthier? Check out the gold medal-winning FoodTrients™: Age-Defying Recipes for a Sustainable Life, with recipes designed to “make good food loaded with anti-aging ingredients a joy
to eat.”

Raising a teenager in these worrisome times? Judith Widener Muir can help. Her gold medal-winning Live Wires: Neuro-Parenting to Ignite Your Teen’s Brain delivers the latest brain research, even proposing that schools should imitate video games.“Make school about mastery and competence, not about the score…students learn more by taking tests over and over until they like their score, rather than  spending more time studying for the test.”

What about books written for the “older generation?” Do Not Go Quietly, say George & Sedena Cappannelli in their gold medal-winning book with the subtitle, A Guide to Living Consciously and Aging Wisely. They urge boomers and elders not only to “continue to refresh and heal our minds, balance our bodies, and enliven our spirits,” but also to “build better bridges of understanding with young people, bridges that will allow us to be more receptive to their unique gifts, understandings, and contributions and that will invite them to be more open to the fruits of our experience.”

The Living Now Book Awards honor books that build bridges and help raise our collective consciousness. That’s what great books do -- they help us imagine positive change, and give us the information we need to make good changes happen. As Marnie McDermott writes in the Enlightenment/Spirituality category gold medalist, Beyond Happiness, “Give yourself permission to experience your life as something beautiful…now.”

Congratulations to all Living Now Book Award winners for their contributions to a better world. See the complete results listing at http://www.independentpublisher.com/article.php?page=1694
